Denny Irawan (29) serves as Chief Economist at Samudera Indonesia / Head of Samudera Indonesia Research Initiatives (SIRI). He is also a lecturer at the Department of Economics, Universitas Indonesia. His research interest focuses on macro (economic and non-economic) uncertainties and their influence on firms' financial dynamics worldwide.

He finished his PhD in economics at The Australian National University, and has engaged in more than 50 research and consulting projects. His primary academic works have been published at the Energy Economics, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control and Geoderma. He has passed CFA Level 1 exam and currently preparing for Level 2.

Furthermore, Denny also holds research affiliate status at the Institute for Economic and Social Research (LPEM) at Universitas Indonesia and the Centre for Applied Macroeconomic Analysis (CAMA) at The Australian National University.
